Diego Nuñez Astorga is the managing attorney for Peek Law Group’s removal defense department. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1999 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2007. Diego has worked in the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. He started his career as an advocate for immigrants in June of 2000, working as an accredited representative at the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota and continued in law school as student director of the immigration law clinic. He has worked in private practice in Austin and Houston and served as an Attorney Advisor for the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) in Fort Worth.
Diego has extensive experience representing individuals before the EOIR, Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of State. He has represented clients in family immigration, citizenship and naturalization, deportation defense, appeals, and visa waivers. He also advises immigrants and defense attorneys on the potential consequences of criminal offenses. Diego has had the honor of representing a broad spectrum of clients ranging from asylum seekers and immigrant families to artists and software engineers. Working with such diverse clients has broadened his understanding of the unique needs each client may have and how to best serve them.
Diego is originally from Costa Rica and grew up in Minneapolis, Houston and Northwest of Chicago. He worked exclusively in immigration law since earning his law degree. Diego has been admitted to the State Bars of Texas (2011) and Minnesota (2007). He is fluent in Spanish.
