Karina is a dedicated criminal defense attorney who has established herself as a trusted advocate for her clients. Born in El Paso, Texas and raised in Juarez, Chihuahua, Karina’s unique upbringing provides her with a deep understanding of the cultural and legal issues that affect families on both sides of the border. Prior to becoming an attorney, Karina gained valuable experience in the legal field by working as a criminal defense paralegal in Austin, Texas. Her passion for criminal law led her to pursue a career as an attorney. After graduating summa cum laude from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, Karina earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 2022.
In addition to her work as a student attorney on Death Penalty cases, Karina also interned with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where she gained valuable insight into the prosecution’s perspective. Karina has also assisted in the defense of various felony and federal cases, including manslaughter and felony murder trials. Her ability to see both sides of a case, along with her well-rounded experience, makes her a formidable advocate for her clients. As a native speaker, Karina is able to effectively communicate with clients who prefer to speak in their native Spanish.
